Create an icon library for the Jackson Laboratory that visually represents products and services to be used in print and web to add more visual interest.

Challenge
Being a biomedical laboratory that primarily works with laboratory animal mice, existing icon libraries did not have icons for our products and services. Pre-made icon libraries were also not a perfect fit with our brand, as they often had rounded corners, too thin of lines, or some other element that made it clear it wasn't an icon for the JAX brand specifically.
Solution
I created an icon library that would visually represent our products and services, using elements from our logo mark so they would fit the visual language. Different icons could be combined to add a qualifier to a base icon. Icons were designed to capture the concept of the services that were typically difficult to visualize.
